Tool Options

While you have a number of useful tools, being able to tweak their behavior makes them well suited to all sorts of situations. The tool option panels are found on the sidebar directly below the tools themselves; which options are visible depends on the specific tool you're currently using.

More information about each option can be found in the table below.

Tool Option Usage
Line Width This option determines the thickness of your lines. You can choose a thickness between one and ten pixels.
Fill Mode When you're drawing shapes, you may want to only draw the outline or just the fill itself. This option allows you to toggle between drawing everything, drawing only the outline, or drawing just the fill.

Simply click the panel to toggle to the next option in the sequence.
Shape Preview The Shape Tool is capable of drawing more than just rectangles. This panel displays the current shape, and you'll bring up the Shape Selection dialog if you click on it.
Pattern Preview Some tools, like the Fill and Stamp tools, can use patterns. This displays the current pattern, in its current color scheme. Clicking this panel will bring up the Pattern Selection dialog, allowing you to choose another pattern.
Transparency Options The Selection Tool can be configured to treat the current background color as transparent. You can use this to create or hide a transparent area in an otherwise completely opaque selection.
